BookAPresentationThe Criminal Justice Education (CJE) program aims to increase awareness and knowledge of the criminal justice system for both adults and youth, among Calgary and area community members. Highlights are the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), the adult Criminal Justice System, mock trials and the impact of crime on victims. Students are given opportunities to examine and express their concerns about crime and criminal justice issues. Community members can explore the values and application of the adult Criminal Justice System and the YCJA. CJE staff act as resource personnel for community members regarding changing legislation and Canadian laws.

CJE Staff bring presentations to students in their schools in Grade 6, Junior High, and Senior High. We also accommodate requests from community groups and organizations.

John Howard Societies across Alberta have developed written reference materials on the topic of the Youth Criminal Justice Act which the public may obtain. They include a YCJA handbook, a YCJA Youth Handbook and a Parent's Guide to the YCJA
